Bad Blogging week

Well I've been a bad blogger this week, as I've just realised I've not posted since last Sunday.

It's been a busy week with me feeling like crap for most of it, I started to feel slightly ill on Monday at work, by Tuesday I felt really ill and tired. Wednesday night I rang in sick for Thursday, and I've been off since then. I still generally feel tired and like crud.

I've spent most of the week trying to make myself feel better, while trying to understand and sort the last of the court paperwork. I've also still been trying to earn online, although I've let a few days slip. I have continued with my photo a day though.

Monday's photo is pf my dad's Harley Davidson Sportster. It's his baby. He came to visit me on it on Monday as he was returning a battery charger.

Tuesday's photo was another one of my cat, I was tired after work, and stuck for something to take. Although I do feel that this profile works rather well.

Wednesday's photo is of a lovely blue sky, and some white fluffy clouds. It was still freezing cold though.

Thursday's photo is of Termie drinking from my water glass, a bit of a concern as I have no idea for how long she has been sharing my drinks. It's not something I really want to consider :), but I'll be more careful in future.

Friday's photo is my husband's braided fishing line.

Today's photo isn't uploaded yet, but it will be one of my husband's new boat. He went to collect it from Scotland yesterday, it's lovely but very big.

Valentines Day, and a Sunday off

Well Valentine's Day for me wasn't that romantic, although it was a nice day.

We spent it visiting my stepdaughter and grandchildren, which was lovely. I was very impressed at how bright my 16 month old granddaughter is, she already can use the remote for her brother's remote controlled car, and knows what it should move. Maybe it's just a sign of the times though.

While out I forgot to take my photo of the day, so when I got back I had a walk towards the river. It was dusk, but pretty grey and cloudy, which led to a great atmospheric photo.
River Wansbeck

Today I've been sorting out some paperwork for a court case, I'll share the details later on. Let's just say it's hard work, and I'm no solicitor lol.

This meant I only stepped outside for some fresh air, so my photo was taking from our garden. A view of the river, my apple tree and the black bridge. Again it was neat sunset, but it's been grey and cloudy here, so no actual sun to set.

The rest of the week up to valentines 2015

The rest of this week has been spent working up to today, I have been doing less hours though so I've been able to spend a bit more time online.

I've also tried to do a bit more walking as I really need to get fit.

Wednesday's photo is of the River Wansbeck here in Northumberland. The bridge is called the black bridge. It's a railway bridge, the trains that go on it carry coal and are really slow.

Thursday's photo is of the keyboard of my new laptop, a Lenovo S20, I bought it to try and make more money online so that I can go selfemployed.

Today's photo is another of the river Wansbeck, but this time at Morpeth. Here it's narrower and deeper and prone to flooding. I went today with my dad and we had a walk along it. This is my favourite photo from today because I like the reflections from the seagulls.

Working and sleeping February 2015

The last few days seems to have passed in a blur or working (from 6.30 in the morning) and trying to catch up on sleep and other jobs. I've also had my house insurance to sort and squeezed in a visit to my friend with the broken wrist, it's mending nicely.

I've also made sure that I took my photo of the day, I now have a nice collection of 41 photos :)

Saturday's photo was of my Fiat 126 (smurf"s) engine, my husband works as a mechanic so there's always a handy engine when I need inspiration.

Sunday after work I was really tired, but my cat Termie came to my rescue, even if I did have to wake her.

Yesterday's photo was of some yummy mini swiss rolls, sadly bought frozen and not made by my own fair hands. Then again giving my cooking skills that's probably as well.

Today's photo is of the gorgeous river at the bottom of my street (and hill thankfully), I really don't visit it enough, which I could tell when I could barely breath walking back up the hill. It's steep but I'm disappinted in myself I really need to make the effort to get fit. The world does not need a fat, unfit dragonfairy :)

Friday at Warkworth and Amble

Today I went out with my mum and dad, we were going to go to Warkworth castle, but it was closed.

On the drive up we stopped at Amble and had some lovely chips and a cheese patty at the Quayside cafe. After I took some photos of the harbour, including my photo of the day.

I liked this because it's the kind of boat my husband would like.

A group of ducks on the river coquet at Warkworth.

Warkworth castle, not open through the week until the middle of february.

Wednesday and Thursday, snow and a mouse

Yesterday I woke up to a little bit of snow, and my cat had gone out in it :)

Yesterday's photo was of her skidding back into the yard.

Today she bought back a gift, but we let it go again. This is my husband's photo before he let it escape.

My photo of the day after I'd caught the mouse the cat brought in, I don't think Termie is too impressed, as I spoilt her fun.

Tuesday at Newcastle, 4/2/15

Today I spent a few hours at Newcastle with my husband.

Newcastle is quite a large city in the north of england, we visited the city centre. The centre surprised me as it's now quite a contrast of shops and buildings. The buildings are now a real mix of the old and the new. I also found a real contrast with the shops, there are lots of shops for wealthy people and lots of shops for people with little money, but not many inbetween shops.

While in Newcastle we also had a burger in Burger King. I had a voucher for two whopper meals for £8.49. The burgers tasted nice, but both me and my husband were disappointed about how small they have become.

While in town I also took my photo of the day;

It shows a statue in Newcastle, which always reminds me of a giant pen holder. On the right in front of the modern buildings you can see part of Newcastle's old medieval wall.

It seemed appropriate for my photo of the day, as it shows the old and the new.

Monday Monday, 2 February 2015

Today has felt a long day, in which I seem to have struggled to get jobs done.

I have started looking for a home insurance quote, I use a combination of different comparison sites. Today I looked at Compare the market, I went through Tocashback, http://www.topcashback.co.uk/ref/frances10 so I got a couple of pound for searching. I've got until next monday so I'll do a little bit of searching each day using different price comparison sites.

I also went down to the sea with my husband, as he wanted to see how rough it was as he was thinking of going fishing. He decided against it, but I took my photo of the day there.

Finally I had to go to work, although it wasn't a bad shift as it was pretty quiet.

Sunday, 1 February 2015

My weekend end of January start of feb, a day off and a day of work.

This weekend has been a tale of two halves, yesterday was my day off and apart from getting some shopping and taxing my husband's car I spent it catching up on jobs around the house and relaxing.

As a result of all that relaxation I hadn't yet taken a photo, for my photo a day bucket list challenge, so I decided to take this one of my pear tree. It's bigger than my apple tree so gets a lot more fruit, but it has more branches so I don't think it's quite as photogenic as my apple tree. When he saw this my husband laughed as I've took quite a few shots of trees this month, but I do like trees.

Today I've been at work all day, and it's been a long, busy day. When I came in from work my husband suggested we go down to the beach so I could take some photos. My favourite is this one of the moon in the daylight.

I also liked these two of the waves, it's the cold north sea and we didn't think it looked that rough. Although compared to seas on holiday it is very rough, and of course much colder. I certainly wouldn't want to swim in it, although I used to in summer when I was much younger.

Last Week of January 2015

Well last week was the last week of January, and it feels to me like it's flown past.

Here in the Uk we have car tax, which is supposed to pay for the upkeep of our road system. I had to laugh as on saturday we went into our local post office to tax our car from February and the woman behind the counter said we couldn't. I was confused as I knew you normally can a few days before the end of the month, and when I asked her if we really had to come back the next day she looked confused. It turned out she didn't know what the date was. Once she realised she let us tax it.

Anyway back to last weeks photos :).

Monday's photo of the day was my apple tree, as you can see it's still not ready to start growing buds :).

Tuesday's photo is a macro of my tablets, I love the effect.

Wednesday's photo is a chess knight, it's a glass one and I'm pleased how it appears to glow in the photo.

Thursday's photo was a bit of a joke one. I live in the north of England and the news said that we had lots of snow, as you can tell we didn't it was actually south of here.

Friday I went to nearby Morpeth with my dad, it was a sunny, cold day. We went for a walk down by the river, which was lovely. I chose as my photo though, this great one of all the birds puffed up to stay warm.
