The week has been cloudy, but mostly dry. It's been pleasant enough that I've made a start weeding my strawberry bed. I go for the slow approach of doing a little bit at a time. I've discovered I've got a lot more strawberry plants than I thought. I thought I had lost most of them in an escaped goat incident last year, but I actually have about 15 to 20. Most are still surrounded by weeds so I'm not positive of the number. Strawberries propagate themselves. I took Tuesday's photo whilst I was weeding. It's my cat surveying her kingdom.
The clouds were a real pain all week as Tuesday night produced the best display of the Northern Lights of the year. These are different lights in the sky caused by magnetic storms. It's something I've always wanted to see, and living in Northumberland something I should have a good chance of seeing. Unfortunately all I could see on Tuesday night was cloud.
Thursday's photo is of the insides of my husband's range rover engine. He's currently replacing the cylinder head on it. I'm starting to enjoy taking engine photos as you can get some nice patterns and different effects.
On Friday I went back to Amble with my dad, I took several different photos but this lovely baby seagull was my favourite .Friday was another cloudy day, and this time I managed to miss the solar eclipse because of it.
