World Book Day in the Uk

Here in the Uk today is world book day, I know because of all the costumed children on my facebook page today.

Elsa from Frozen appears to be the favourite, although I didn't know that was a book.

I googled (well actually swag searched) world book day and discovered that the Uk holds it a month early on the first Thursday in March, in most of the rest of the world it's around the 23rd of April. The Uk chose a different day due to the Easter Holidays. So to me it's less of a world book day and more of a UK one :) But encouraging children to read is all good.

So my favourite book is Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, closely followed by Captain Correllis Mandolin by Louis de Bernieres. I should add that while I read ebooks on my iPad I generally prefer the real thing. I've yet to start enjoying audio books :). I do like some film adaptations though :).

This is my old copy of Wuthering Heights, as you can see it's a reprint under her pen name Ellis Bell, all the Bronte sisters originally used pen names.
